Creating teams

Build teams, rename them, and move players out of the unassigned list so the event is ready for live play.

Outcome

After this guide, you will have named teams with players assigned correctly so tile progress can start flowing during the event.

Before you start

  • Your bingo should already exist.
  • Players should have joined the bingo first.
  • You should have moderator access to the bingo workspace.

Step by step

  1. Open the bingo workspace.
  2. Go to Teams or the team management area.
  3. Create the number of teams you need.
  4. Rename each team so the board and standings are easy to read during the event.
  5. Review the Unassigned player list.
  6. Drag players from the unassigned list into the correct team.
  7. Repeat until every active participant is assigned where they belong.
  8. Save or confirm the team setup if your flow prompts for it.

What to check before the event starts

  • Every player who should be able to submit progress is assigned to a team.
  • Team names are final enough to use in standings, Discord updates, and screenshots.
  • No one important is left in the unassigned list.

Common gotchas

  • Players can view parts of the workspace before they are assigned, but tile progress is locked until they are on a team.
  • Leaving people unassigned makes the event harder to moderate later, so it is worth cleaning this up before kickoff.
  • If someone joined with the wrong profile or no longer belongs in the event, remove them from the roster instead of leaving them unattached indefinitely.
